BSGR Guinea is conducting an exploration program focusing on Iron Ore at Simandou North (Blocks 1 & 2) and Simandou South (Zogota). The combined concessions are estimated to hold 5 - 8 billion tonnes of high quality hematite ( 58% - 69% Fe). A further 20 billion tonnes of magnetite (30% - 40% Fe) is estimated to exist at the combined concession areas. Exploration activities at Zogota started in 2008, while work at Blocks 1 & 2 started early in 2009. A feasibility study for Zogota, is scheduled for completion during Q4 2009 early Q1 2010. Prospecting permits for Blocks 1 & 2 in Simandou North were awarded to BSGR Guinea during December 2008 by the previous government and in February 2009, definitive re-confirmation of ownership was given by both the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the incumbent President of Guinea.
